Diamondbacks bite Dodgers' best again to take 2-0 series lead 'Job's not finished' Zac Gallen pumped both his fists and let out a guttural roar. A third straight curveball caught Freddie Freeman off guard as it looped down the middle for strike three, helping the Diamondbacks ace escape the fifth-inning threat, navigate through the two MVP candidates atop the Dodgers' vaunted lineup and move the quick-strike, upstart wild-card team one win away from the National League Championship Series.
Again, the Dodgers' starting pitchers put them in an early hole.
Again, a Dodgers offense expected to mask its rotation's deficiencies came up mostly empty, misfiring with multiple opportunities to tie or take the lead.
Again, the second-place team in the NL West is on the brink of stunning the division champions in the NLDS.
"We hear the talk," Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said. "We hear that we're maybe like the little brother that everyb...

Palestinian militants launch surprise attacks inside Israel Palestinian militants launched a stunning assault inside Israel on Saturday, with fighters infiltrating into the country’s south and a massive barrage of rockets fired from the Gaza Strip. Israel responded to the surprise attack by declaring a "state of war alert" and striking targets in Gaza, setting the stage for what was likely to be a new and intense round of fighting. It follows weeks of heightened tensions along Israel’s volatile border with Gaza, and heavy fighting in the Israeli-occupied West Bank — but also years of unresolved grievances over the treatment of Palestinians that have long threatened to erupt. Militant group Hamas, which rules Gaza, announced Saturday that it was behind the operation it dubbed “Al-Aqsa Flood.” “Enough is enough,” the elusive leader of the group's military wing, Mohammed Deif, said in a recorded message that called on Palestinians to join the fight. “This is the day of the g...

Hackers say Sony is refusing to pay up after cyberattack Sony has appeared on the dark web victim blog of data extortion gang Ransomedvc, who claim to have infiltrated the company’s systems and stolen sensitive data. If confirmed, it will be the second time Sony has been breached in a matter of months, after the business was hit as part of the MOVEit Transfer vulnerability attacks.
Ransomedvc wrote on its blog that it had “successfully compromised all of Sony’s systems”, but added: “We won’t ransom them!” Sony cyberattack a success?
The gang alleges that Sony has refused to pay to retrieve the data, and says it plans to sell it instead. It is threatening to release the allegedly stolen information on 28 September. Samples of the data have been posted alongside these claims, reportedly featuring a PowerPoint presentation from Sony’s quality assurance division, internal screenshots displaying what could be a Sony workstation, and some Java files. You’ll Never Believe Kim Kardashian’s Vulgar First Line on ‘American Horror Story’ It turns out to be incredibly fitting that Kim Kardashian plays a publicist in the new season of American Horror Story. Depending on whether or not you subscribe to the philosophy that any press is good press, American Horror Story has had a very bad (or maybe a very good) week. As if it weren’t enough that FX’s hit anthology series—which premiered its 12th installment, AHS: Delicate, Sept. 20—was accused of crossing the WGA’s picket line in a race to finish production over the summer, the show became embroiled in another scandal this week. Though fans were excited for series regular Emma Roberts to return in a lead role, that anticipation soured when Angelica Ross, who starred in Season 9, accused Roberts of transphobic behavior on set and criticized series creator Ryan Murphy for making false promises to her about involving her in the casting of an all-Black AHS, before ghosting and allegedly costing h...

Steelers' defense leads win over Browns who lose RB Nick Chubb The Pittsburgh Steelers used defensive touchdowns in the first and fourth quarters to defeat the Cleveland Browns 26-22 on Monday night at Acrisure Stadium, leaving the Browns winless in Pittsburgh in the regular season since 2003. But the score wasn't the most painful loss for the Browns (1-1), as running back Nick Chubb suffered a significant left knee injury in the second quarter and was carted off the field. The Steelers moved to 1-1 with the win.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers' offense couldn't score, but that didn't stop their defense from finding the end zone to beat the Browns. Outside linebacker Alex Highsmith scored nine seconds into the game, returning an interception 30 yards for a score when Minkah Fitzpatrick deflected Deshaun Watson's first pass of the game. Then, as the Steelers trailed by three in the fourth quarter, Highsmith made another big play by forcing a Watson fumble, w...

The rep adds that the family is asking for "privacy during this difficult time." TMZ, which was the first outlet to report the news, reported Harwell has "reached the final stage of liver failure" due to alcohol abuse throughout his life. In October 2021, Harwell announced his retirement from the band following a fumbled performance at a beer and wine festival. During an appearance with the band at The Big Sip in New York, a video of Harwell slurring his speech, cursing at the audience, and making a gesture that resembled a Nazi salute, became viral.

‘One Piece’ Review Netflix’s Live-Action Manga Adaptation Is a Delight It rarely takes very long for Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy), the irrepressible hero of Netflix’s One Piece, to announce his grand plan to everyone. “I’m going to be king of the pirates,” he declares, always with a bright smile that never seems to have known even a shade of self-doubt. It sounds like a little boy’s fantasy the first time we hear it — and the second, and the third, and probably the hundredth too. But over eight hour-long episodes, that youthful pluck starts to seem less like a reason to doubt him than a reason to believe in him. One Piece is a celebration of the power of childlike wonder that itself feels like the delightful product of a kid’s imagination.
To be fair, there’s plenty of reason to be skeptical at first that the young man drifting alone in a run-down sailboat has what it takes. When we meet Luffy, he has no ship, no crew, no map — just the unyielding conviction that he will be the pira...

Djokovic made a winning return after missing the tournament last year, rolling to a 6-0, 6-2, 6-3 victory over Alexandre Muller of France on Monday night. The 23-time Grand Slam champion had to wait through Coco Gauff's three-set victory to open the night session at Arthur Ashe Stadium, followed by an opening-night ceremony marking 50 years of equal prize money at the US Open. "Well, I knew it was going to be a late night for me, late start of the match," Djokovic said. "Nevertheless, I mean, I was excited to go out on the court. I didn't care if I started after midnight because I was looking forward to this moment for a few years, to be out on the biggest stadium in our sport, the loudest stadium in our sport, playing the night session."
Djokovic was not allowed to travel to the United States last year because...

Nikki Sixx Claims Keeping Mick Mars Would Disappoint Mötley Crüe Fans In a recent interview with Guitar World, Mötley Crüe guitarist Nikki Sixx admitted that Mick Mars’ decision to leave the band was not a move they were expecting. Sixx revealed that they had to make a decision for the future of Mötley Crüe by explaining:
“We never saw it coming that Mick wasn’t going to be able to tour and was going to have to quit the band. In the middle – not even the middle – of a huge tour, we had to ask ourselves, ‘Do we want to let the fans down? Do we want to let Live Nation down?'” He continued: “‘Do we want to let Def Leppard down? Do we want to let ourselves down because an original member of our band can’t tour anymore?’ We had to have a deep, deep look into what we were going to do.” Nikki also shared with Guitar World that their decision to appoint John 5 to take over Mars’ place was initially to fulfill their tour commitments. However the guitarist also tweeted about their first r...

Packers open preseason with 36-19 win over Bengals The starters got some early work and a couple of rookies stood out in the Packers' 36-19 victory over the Bengals in Friday night's preseason opener at Paycor Stadium. QB Jordan Love led the offense to one touchdown in two series, hitting WR Romeo Doubs for a score in the first quarter. Love finished 7-of-10 for 46 yards. The defensive starters got an early three-and-out, highlighted by a sack from nickel CB Keisean Nixon, and pretty much took a rest from there. The rookie standouts were fifth-round QB Sean Clifford and undrafted RB Emanuel Wilson. Sean Clifford recovered from throwing two interceptions, one a pick-six, to direct multiple scoring drives. He was 20-of-26 for 208 yards with one touchdown and the two INTs. His TD pass was to TE Tyler Davis, who later left with a knee injury.
Wilson, undrafted from Fort Valley State, had six carries for 111 yards and two TDs, the second an 80-yard run. RB Tyler Goodson also score...

Swift let fly with the news that many had been waiting for, that 1989 (Taylor’s Version) was “on its way,” with a release date of Oct. 27, she confirms on her social accounts. Initially issued in 2014, 1989 is the album that “changed my life in countless ways,” continues Swift, adding that “it fills me with such excitement to announce” her latest “Version.”
And there’s an added incentive to tune in, as if Swifties needed any more hype. “To be perfectly honest,” TayTay writes, “this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long!”
